The police in the FCT have arrested 11 suspects in connection with the lynching of a man identified as Salihu, by a mob, which mistook him for a motorcycle thief in Anguwar Dodo, Gwagwalada Area Council.
City & Crime reported that a mob last Friday afternoon lynched a man mistaken for a motorcycle thief in Anguwar Dodo after the suspect they were chasing, abandoned the motorcycle and escaped.
A resident of Anguwar Dodo, Shuaibu Yunusa, who spoke with our reporter on Wednesday, said policemen from the area command stormed the area and arrested 11 people I connection with the incident.
He said the police were able to trace some of the suspects through some residents of the area, who witnessed the lynching of the man.

“On that day, when people were hitting the man with all manner of objects, some people around there identified some of them, including some Okada riders,” he said.
According to him, some of the suspects were traced and picked up at the tipper garage in the area.
A police source in the area also confirmed the arrest but declined further comment.
The spokeswoman of the FCT police command, DSP Adeh Josephine, is yet to confirm the arrest as at the time of filing the report.
