Police launch public complaints unit

The Nasarawa State Police Command yesterday launched the Nigeria Police Public Complaint Rapid Response Unit (PCRRU), to address corruption and professional misconduct among its officers and men.

The initiative which encompasses the “Bail is free”, “Change begins with me” and “Say no to corruption” campaigns is aimed at addressing corruption within the police and enhance police-public relations.

The state Commissioner of Police, Abubakar Sadiq Bello, led the distribution of the campaign flyers printed in the three major Nigerian languages to traders at the Lafia new market.

The state governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, who was represented by the permanent secretary, special duties, Ishaq Abubakar, commended Inspector-General of police, Ibrahim Idris, for providing the platform to strengthen professionalism and national security.
