The Ondo State Police Command has said it has launched a manhunt on the thugs that attacked and killed a Naval Officer in Idoani, Ose Local Council Area of the state.
Daily Trust had reported that a naval rating, identified as Akingbagbohun, was killed while driving into the community, on Monday evening.
The deceased is attached to the Navy Secondary School in Imeri – a few metres away from the Idoani community.
He was said to have splashed water on a motorcyclist and his passenger while trying to avoid potholes on the bad section of the road.

A resident, who spoke to our reporter under the condition of anonymity, said the motorcyclist later mobilised thugs to the scene and attacked the officers with a rod.
The killing of the officer has gotten the residents worried as the colleagues of the deceased allegedly threatened to avenge his death.
Confirming the incident on Tuesday, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, said the naval officer was mobbed to death by thugs numbering about six over an altercation.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Ose Local Council Area of the state, Mr Dennis Adekunle, has condemned the attack and gruesome killing of the naval rating and assured the school authorities of the cooperation of the council and community in dousing the tension.
