The Akwa Ibom State Police Command said it has killed two more armed robbers during a gun battle.
The Police said their response to a distress call led to a confrontation with the robbers who reportedly opened fire that led to a shoot-out.

In a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Odiko Macdon on Friday, he stated that one of the robbers was among the inmates who absconded after a jail break in Ikot Ekpene sometime ago.
He revealed that the hoodlum, identified as Ebube was the gang leader of criminals who have been terrorizing Ikot Ekpene, Essien Udim and its environs.
He explained that further investigations led to the arrest of one Felix Nsikak of Ikot Inyang connected with the robbery incident, adding that five phones were recovered from him.
