Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have killed one suspected armed robber during a robbery operation and arrested another identified as Ahmed Ibrahim.
It was gathered that the incident happened in Ugbor area of Benin when operatives of Ugbor police division and Edo Security Network engaged a robbery gang in the area.
The command spokesman, SP Chidi Nwanbuzor, said the police neutralized one of the robbers and arrested another.
He said one cut-to-size gun and two cartridges were recovered from them.

He said the arrested suspect would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, while the body of the deceased robber had been deposited at Stella Obasanjo Hospital mortuary in the state.
According to him, the state Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Dankwara, assured that the command is committed to arresting perpetrators of violent crimes and other offences and prosecuting them accordingly.
