The police, in collaboration with vigilantes, have killed a suspected kidnapper during a gun duel and rescued two victims in Kadade village in Toro LGA of Bauchi State.
The police spokesman in the state, SP Ahmed Wakil, who disclosed this in a statement, said that On November 29, 2023, one Sabitu of Kadade village reported that bandits had invaded their village and stormed into the house of one Yakubu Ya’u Makeri.
The statement reads in part: “A team of operatives attached to Rishi Division, in conjunction with vigilantes, moved to the scene and engaged the bandits. The operatives overpowered the bandits in a gun duel. As a result, one of the bandits was neutralised while the others scampered and abandoned their mission.
“The operatives also succeeded in rescuing two kidnap victims: Pastor Sunday Ayuba (40) and Keziah Ayuba (50); all of Raddi village in Bassa LGA of Plateau State. The victims were confirmed to have been kidnapped from their village.”
