Police kill robbery suspect, nab six in Abuja

Police from the FCT command have shot dead a suspected armed robber and arrested six others over robbery and for allegedly snatching vehicles in Kubwa, Abuja.

Spokesperson of the police command, ASP Maryam Yusuf, said in a statement in Abuja Sunday, that the  deceased was a member of a four-man robbery gang and that he died from gun shot injuries while receiving treatment in hospital.

She said the police operatives from Kubwa division engaged the four man-robbery gang along Kubwa Garden, while robbing their victims.

She added that three robbers were arrested and one died from gun shot injury.

She gave the names of those arrested  as Abubakar Isa, Abdullahi Abdul and Mubarak Usman.

She said the suspects have confessed  to terrorising residents of Kubwa axis, adding that exhibits recovered from them included three cutlasses, one dagger, one cutter, two laptops, nine mobile phones, two plasma TV sets and jewelries.

She also said the police command has arrested three suspects, Beneth Idiwogu, Uche Victor and Julius Kilotomo for car snatching.

She said they were arrested in several coordinated intelligence operations by the command’s Anti-Car Theft Unit, adding that the suspects have confessed to being members of a notorious syndicate terrorizing the FCT.

Yusuf said exhibits recovered from them included two silver coloured Toyota Corolla and           Toyota RAV4 and one black Lexus cars.
