The police in Edo State have killed a suspected kidnapper following a gun battle.
The command’s spokesperson, Chidi Nwanbuzor, said policemen, in collaboration with vigilantes, while on patrol came across hoodlums suspected to be kidnappers who were about to operate on the Benin-Auchi Expressway by Obadan Junction on August 28.

He said the hoodlums opened fire on the police team and that the police responded and neutralised one of them while others escaped.
He added that bush combing was on to arrest the fleeing members of the gang.
He listed items recovered as a single-barrel gun, four live cartridges, one handset and one torchlight.
