The police in Sokoto State said it had killed one bandit and arrested eight others for committing various offences in the state.
Among the eight suspects who were paraded on Tuesday were armed robbers, kidnappers, bandits and suspected car snatchers.
The state Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Useini Gumel, said the suspects were arrested in different parts of the state.
He said the police recovered several arms, ammunition, stolen vehicles and N2.5 million paid as ransom.

The commissioner maintained that socio-economic activities across the state were thriving due to the regular raids of crime prone locations by the police and other crime prevention measures.
He, however, called on the public to support the police with credible information about criminal hideouts, assuring them that their information would be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
