The Plateau State Police Command, on Saturday, killed one armed robber and recovered a gun and a knife along Namu-Lafia road, in Qua’an-Pan LGA of the state.
Bartholomew N. Onyeka psc (+), Commissioner of Police, told journalists that the police succeed in the operation following a report of a robbery case in the area and swiftly reacted.

He said: “On the 24th of June 2022, at about 2040hrs, some armed robbers came out of Daji Madam Pandam forest along Namu-Lafia road and robbed some passengers of their belongings.
“Upon receiving this information, a combined team of police operatives in collaboration with other security agencies swiftly rushed to the area, engaged and neutralised one of the hoodlums.
“Others escaped into the bush with bullet injuries. A search was conducted around the scene and the following items were recovered (1) toy gun, (2) torchlight, (3) knife and other dangerous weapons,” he added.
The commissioner said effort was ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects. He warned other criminals to shun crime and criminality or “leave Plateau State, as the command will not rest until we fish them out and prosecute them.”
