Police kill 2 suspected kidnappers in Plateau

The Plateau state police command, on Tuesday, said it had killed two suspected kidnappers in the Fangha area of Daffo District of Bokkos LGA of the state.

 The command also said it had recovered exhibits from the hoodlums, including one locally fabricated revolver loaded with four 7.62MM ammunition, two phones, one dagger and one knife.

  The spokesperson of the command, DSP Alabo Alfred, while confirming the incident said, “On June 3, 2024, at 5:30am, we received a distress call from a patriotic citizen who reported that some hoodlums suspected to be kidnappers were operating at the Fangha area of Daffo District, Bokkos Local Government Area.

  “Upon the receipt of the tipoff, a team of policemen and other security help groups led by the DPO, Bokkos Division, swiftly rushed to the scene of the incident, where they engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel. In the process, two of the hoodlums were neutralised, while others escaped with gunshot wounds.”

  Alfred further assured people of the state that the police would remain resolute in its fight against crime and criminality and continue to do everything within its constitutional mandate to ensure that Plateau State was habitable for all residents and visitors. 

  He, however, said the case was still under investigation while efforts had been intensified to arrest the fleeing suspects.
