The police in Edo State, in collaboration with other security agencies, have killed two suspected kidnappers during a gun battle and rescued two victims.
It was gathered that the suspects were killed while attempting to collect ransom from the relatives of their victims.
Recall that four gunmen on March 21, kidnapped two sisters when they went to supervise a house project in Obazagbon community in Ikpoba Okha LGA.
It was also learnt that the kidnappers led the victims to a boat on the Ogba River and ferried them to their hide out and later called the victims’ relatives to negotiate ransom, and that the kidnappers demanded N50m, but later reduced it N4.4m, emphasizing that the money should be in doolars.

When contacted, Edo State police spokesman, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, who confirmed the incident, said, “I can assure you that we have stepped up heavy investigation to locate those suspects on the run.”
