Anambra State Police Command Special Crack Squad has killed one armed robbery suspect and foiled a robbery operation in the state.
The incident took place in Ihiala Local Government Area of the state at the weekend.
The state police command spokesman, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga said the special squad encountered the gunmen at midnight on Saturday 2024 while attempting to rob a middle-aged man of his vehicle at Ubiahuikwem, Ihiala.
He said on sighting the police, the gunmen who were operating on two motorcycles opened fire on the Police operatives.

According to him, “Operatives professionally engaged them to avoid hitting the would-be victim of the armed robbery who then zoomed off from the scene.”
Ikenga said, one Automatic Pump Action Gun and two motorcycles were recovered from the hoodlums.
The Commissioner of Police who expressed satisfaction with the police squad has been charging them not to relent in flushing out all criminal elements out of Ihiala and neighboring communities like Isseke, Lilu, Orsumoghu and Azia.
He promised continuous logistics support to the squad to enable them fulfill their mandate.
