The Police in Nasarawa State Command have killed one person and foiled an armed robbery attack in Nasarawa State.
The State Commissioner of Police, Bola Longe, disclosed this at a press briefing in Lafia, on Monday.

Longe said, the Command received a distress call on Sunday that hoodlums suspected to be armed robbers had blocked Gidan Gambo, along Lafia-Shandam road, with intent to rob unsuspecting commuters.
“Upon receipt of the information, we mobilised police personnel attached to Assakio Police Station and a team of Safer Highway personnel to the area where a gun duel ensued “My able men dislodged the hoodlums and one yet to be identified suspected armed robber was fatally wounded. He was rushed to the hospital where a doctor on duty confirmed him dead,” he said.
According to the CP, a machete and knife were recovered from him as exhibit while others escaped into the bush with bullet wounds.
He said that police personnel are still combing the bush to arrest the other fleeing suspects.
The commissioner warned all criminals and those having criminal intention to shun crime before they were caught and prosecuted.
