Police in Kano have intercepted a trailer load of fake drugs and eight drums of substance suspected to be methaline chloride A50 popularly known as suck-and-die.
The items were intercepted by the operatives of the command on highway patrol within the state capital.
Addressing press, the state’s Commissioner of Police, Wakili Mohammed said the trailer with registration Number FGE 522 XA was intercepted along Murtala Mohammed way in Nassarawa local government area of Kano metropolis.
He said only the driver of the trailer was arrested as the owner of the items escaped.
He, however, said that the driver was cooperating with the police by giving useful information that would help in arresting the owner of the products.
The CP Mohammed said owner of the suck-and-die is currently under interrogation after which he would be charged to court.
Mr. Mohmmed, who vowed to deal with the menace of drug abuse and thuggery in the state, said that police could not do it alone, hence urged the public to help the police with relevant information.
