Police disperse #EndSARS protesters in Abuja

Police have fired tear gas to disperse dozens of #EndSARS protesters demanding police reform in Abuja.

A video posted on social media shows protesters, who had converged on Monday morning around AYA junction, running for safety.

Also, soldiers have been deployed to some strategic locations across the city including the Presidential Villa gate.

The protest, which began nearly two weeks ago, seeks an end to police brutality in the country.

At least 12 people have been killed across the country since the protests began about two weeks ago.

Authorities had initially promised not to use force against the protesters.

A witness at AYA says a group of armed youths opposed the protesters, unchecked by police.
