The Imo State Police Command said it has dismissed 11 policemen in the state for corrupt practices while 19 others currently being investigated by the command for misdemeanor and other unprofessional conducts.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Isaac Akinmoyede, who disclosed this in Owerri, said the command has zero-tolerance for acts that are capable of putting the image of the Nigeria Police Force in disrepute.

Akinmoyede disclosed that the dismissed policemen were found to have indulged in acts considered to be contrary to the oath they took during their enlistment into the force, adding that the acts were against the rule of engagements in service.
He advised the people of the state to keep bringing to his attention to actions of officers which negate the standard of professional engagements.
