Police declare UK-based blogger wanted over ‘cyberstalking’

The police high command, on Sunday declared a Nigerian blogger based in the United Kingdom, Dorcas Adeyinka, wanted over alleged cyberstalking.

The force, in its bulletin circulated to journalists in Abuja, also declared the blogger wanted over allegations that border on abduction and murder.

Her declaration was coming less than 72 hours a reporter with the Foundation of Investigative Journalism (FIJ), Daniel Ojukwu, was released over alleged cybercrime.

Daily Trust reports that Adeyinka who has been a notable figure on social media now faces other serious allegations, according to police, such as injurious falsehood, threats to life and extortion.

In the bulletin, the police provided a detailed description of Adeyinka, identifying her as a Yoruba woman and approximately 1.64 metres tall.

It added that she’s with an oval face, pointed nose, distinctive tribal marks, black hair, a larger head and a prominent chin.

According to the force, her last known address was 833 Woolick Road in the United Kingdom.

The police said it suspected that Adeyinka frequents several areas within Nigeria, including Ikeja, Ogudu, Fagba, Otta and Sango in Lagos and Ogun states.

“We urge anyone with information regarding Ms Adeyinka’s whereabouts to come forward. A handsome reward awaits any person(s) who can provide information leading to her arrest,” it partly read.

The Inspector-General’s Monitoring Unit also provided contact numbers for the public to report any relevant information.
