The Bauchi State Police Command has debunked the alleged existence of people with paranormal abilities; fabricated news going around purporting the presence and activities of the people with spiritual powers in the Bauchi metropolitan.
This was disclosed in a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer,
SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil.
Wakil said, “The intelligence machinery has relentlessly unravelled and has it that the story in circulation which induces extensive anxiety and panic to the law-abiding citizens of the state is fictitious and baseless and the command hereby categorically assures the people that the story is baseless and no incident of such has been tracked down.”
He described the alleged story as bogus and called on the law-abiding and noble citizens of the state to disregard such bruit and further admonish the populace to desist from such acts as well as taking laws into their hands instead of reporting to the appropriate authorities for necessary action.

“To this end, the Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, CP Auwal Musa Muhammad, urges members of the public to go about their lawful businesses without fear of intimidation by such purported rumours,” he said.
Wakil noted that the CP has directed all area commanders/tactical commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to continuously embark on visibility policing patrol 24/7 round the clock within the area of responsibility and arrest any suspected persons or groups, that, if found wanting in connection with such act or the like, would be prosecuted accordingly.
