The Oyo State police command, on Tuesday confirmed that gunmen abducted one Mr Popoola Isaac, a staff of the RCC, and Mr Ismail Adeoye, a staff of Polaris Bank.
The public relations officer of the state police command, Mr Olugbenga Fadeyi, who confirmed this to Daily Trust in Ibadan on Tuesday, said the police had intensified efforts to get the victims released.
Fadeyi said, “Efforts have been intensified to get them released, as well as arrest the abductors.”
Earlier, a source told Daily Trust that the gunmen stormed the quarry site located along Ijebu-Ode/Ibadan road and kidnapped the victims on Monday.
The source said the incident occurred at Dalli village (Binu Quarry), along the Ibadan-Ijebu-Ode road.
He further said the case had been reported at the Idi Ayunre police station.
As at Tuesday evening, a source in the site said the abductors were yet to contact the family.
