The Plateau State police command Friday confirmed that 87 people were killed in Tuesday’s attack on villages of Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The police also said 39 people were injured during the incident and currently receiving treatment in various hospitals in the state.
DSP Alabo Alfred, the spokesperson of the command, confirmed the casualty figure in a statement sent to Daily Trust Saturday, adding that two suspects were arrested in connection with the attack.
He said, “After calm was restored to the communities, more bodies were recovered, which is part of the 30 earlier reported. The figures are as follows: Kubat village 27; Kantoma, 31; Alagon 6; Kubwas, 8; Dumnang, 9; Shangal 1; Gwet, 3 and Washna, 2.

He said the injured were receiving attention across various hospitals.
