The new Commissioner of Police in Bauchi State, Habu Sani Ahmadu, has promised to adopt new measures to tackle crime in the state.
He made the promise while addressing journalists, officers and men of the state police command in Bauchi yesterday.
Ahmadu said modern policing and crime control must be performed in line with global best practices and contribute towards ensuring security and creating trust between the police and communities.
He stressed the need for communities to support the police to ensure the effectiveness of crime prevention as well as curbing violent conflicts in the state.
According to him, the police will adopt integrated intelligence gathering and community policing in curbing criminal activities.
He promised to deploy all means within the law to prevent and effectively control crime while ensuring respect for human rights.
