Police clampdown on illegal firearms

Police in Kaduna State has descended on the proliferation of prohibited firearms in the country following a directive by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu.

A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Kaduna State Command, ASP Mohammed Jalige on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Muri, directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Heads of Tactical/Operation Units of the Command to immediately emplace measures to identify, isolate, disarm, arrest and prosecute any person(s) and/or group(s) unlawfully possessing firearms, particularly prohibited ones.
