The Nigeria Police Force, Nasarawa State Command, says it has commenced full investigation into the attack on Ajimaka community in the Doma Local Government Area of the state.
Daily Trust reports that gunmen believed to be herders stormed Ajima village and killed at least nine persons in the early hours of Saturday.

A statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ranham Namsel, and made available to our correspondent on Sunday, indicated that the Commissioner of Police, Mr Bola Longe, has already directed the deputy commissioner of police in charge of the State Criminal and Investigation Department (SCID) to move to the area and conduct a comprehensive investigation to get the rationale behind the massacre and apprehend the perpetrators.
While condoling with the families of the deceased, the statement stated that the commissioner promised that the command will not rest until it brings the perpetrators of the dastardly act to book.
The statement reads in part: “24/4/2021 at about 0600hrs, information was received from the overseer, Ekye Development Area that, on the same date at about 0100hrs, unknown assailants attacked Ajimaka Village situated at Nasarawa/Benue boundary, Doka district of Doma LGA.
“Upon receipt of the information, a joint team of Police and Military personnel were deployed to the scene where nine Corpses were recovered, each with multiple machete cuts.
“Consequently, the Commissioner of Police, Bola Longe, has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of State Criminal and Investigation Department (SCID) to move to the area and conduct a comprehensive investigation in order to unravel the mystery behind the attack and arrest the perpetrators of the act”, it added.
