Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested two suspected cultists, Sodiq Idowu (27) and Yusuf Wahab (25) at the Agbado area in Ifo LGA of Ogun State.
Police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, said the arrest followed an operation led by CSP Adekunle Awoniyi, the Divisional Police Officer of Agbado Division, in response to a tip-off about cultist activities in the Fadahunsi area.
She said the prompt response of the police quelled the disturbances caused by the cultists, leading to the arrest of two individuals at the scene.
Odutola said operatives of the division are hunting for the fleeing colleagues of the suspects following the information received from the duo.

“Both suspects have confessed to being members of the EIYE confraternity and have provided valuable information that will aid the police in apprehending other fleeing suspects involved in cultist activities.
“They have also provided information about the syndicate, the location of their armourer, and the whereabouts of weapons that may have been used in their criminal activities,” she said.
Odutola said preliminary investigations are underway at the Divisional Police Office, adding that the suspects will soon be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for “a more discreet and thorough investigation of their involvement in the EIYE confraternity and other related crimes.”
The spokesperson said the command under the Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, remains “vibrant and is committed to curbing menaces of cultism and cult-related activities.”
