Police arrest suspects with N3.7m fake currency

The Plateau State Police Command have arrested two suspects in possession of 30 bundles of N1, 000 and 14 half bundles of N1, 000 counterfeit notes amounting to N3.7million.

The State Police Commission, Isaac Akinmoyede while parading the suspects on Friday, said Isa Ibrahim of Mayo-Belwa in Adamawa State and one Danjuma Yilbis from Ron in Plateau’s Bokkos local government area were arrested for unlawful possession of counterfeit currency on August 30 based on intelligence.

He also paraded ten suspects for conspiring and killed one Nden Gungnim of Gur village in Zamko area of Langtang North local government area on allegation that he was a wizard.

The Police CP said Nanshep Ishaya of Gur village had reported to the Police on August 21 that on August 18, the suspects all between the ages of 33 and 80 years and residents of Gur village had conspired and abducted the victim to a forest in Gur where they tortured, killed and buried him in a shallow grave.
