Police arrest suspected vandals, drug baron in Jigawa

The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested two suspected vandals and one drug baron.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, who told journalists in Dutse, said detectives attached to Kazaure Divisional Police Headquarters arrested the suspects with a disc insulator and aluminum wires inside a sack. 

The PRO said on interrogation, the suspects admitted that they vandalised Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) properties along Gwiwa- Kazaure Highway.

He said when the acting manager, Kazaure Technical Service Point (TSP), was contacted, he confirmed that about two weeks ago, hoodlums invaded the KEDCO electricity line at the old NYSC Skills Acquisition Centre along Gwiwa-Kazaure Highway and vandalised their properties worth thousands of naira. 

In another incident, he said policemen attached to Guri Divisional Police Headquarters raided a criminal hideout in Bakin Kasuwa Guri LGA and arrested one Shu’aibu Musa of Bakin Kasuwa quarters in Guri LGA with 49 D-5 tablets, 14 tramadol capsules, and 12 wraps of dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
