Police arrest suspected mosque solar thief in Kaduna

 Police operatives in Kaduna State have arrested a suspected thief of a solar-powered generator and its battery that supplies a Juma’at mosque in Hunkuyi, Kudan Local government Area of the state.

Confirming the arrest, the Public Relations Officer, Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Mansir Hassan, said operatives at the divisional area have arrested one Basiru Rabiu of Sabon Gari, Hunkuyi, for the alleged offence.

He explained that the suspect was apprehended when the locals became suspicious of his movement around the mosque.

The suspect was subsequently arrested and after investigation confessed to stealing the solar-powered generator and its battery.

He stated that the suspect who also revealed the theft of the same property at Nahuce village said he sold the items to one Mansir Umar.

The PRO however said the receiver has also been arrested and is being interrogated.
