Police arrest suspected killer of woman

The Plateau State Police Command has paraded one Wusilda Bulus, a prime suspect in the killing of a witchcraft suspect alleged to have killed his two sisters in Myet village of Kanke LGA of the state.

The state police commissioner, Emmanuel Adesina, who paraded the suspect alongside other suspected criminals, said the prime suspect claimed to have killed the victims over alleged witchcraft in their community.

The commissioner said, “On December 18, 2024, at about 4pm, we received a report through a GSM call from Myet village of Dawaki, Kabwir district, reporting that on the same day at about 8am, an unknown woman was killed at a riverside on the boundary between Plateau and Bauchi states.

“That after killing the woman, her body was burnt. On receipt of the report, the DPO immediately raced to the scene where the corpse lay, burnt beyond recognition.

“Upon conducting a thorough investigation, one suspect was arrested – one Wusilda Bulus as the prime suspect in the murder of the woman.

“While conducting our interview of the suspect, he confessed to the crime and further revealed his co-conspirators who are now at large.

“According to him, they killed the woman because they suspected her of witchcraft and being responsible for the deaths of his two sisters,” the commissioner added.

The command further said the suspect would be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.
