Three suspects, including a soldier, who allegedly abducted a university student in Ekiti State have been arrested by the police and the student rescued.

The three suspects were arrested in their hotel room in Ado-Ekiti.

The suspects are Ojo Babajide and Olajide Nathaniel, who said they were from Ondo State and Adeniyi Adetayo, who claimed to be a soldier serving in Yobe State.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Sunday Abutu, who confirmed the development said they received a distress call that a student of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, was abducted from Oye-Ekiti to an unknown destination.

Abutu pointed out that the command’s Rapid Response Squad tracked the suspects to a hotel located along Ado-Ikere road and rescued the victim unhurt.

He said: “The suspects during interrogation confessed to the crime, saying they just want to make money.”

Abutu said the command is on the trail of the other suspects who took to their heels and escaped arrest on sighting the police.
