Police arrest robbery suspect at Iddo

A police source said the suspect with his gang, who are at large, recently  robbed one Mr. Giwa Henry of an estate along Airport road Abuja, of his valuables.
It was gathered that when the victim reported the matter to the police, investigations commenced and the police was able to track down the suspect, who the source said had confessed to the crime and that investigation is ongoing to track down his gang members.
Reacting, FCT police spokesperson, Assistant Superintendent Ikechukwu Peter, confirmed the arrest, adding that exhibits recovered from him include a locally made pistol with one live ammunition and one iron cutter.  
The PPRO also said on that same day, FCT police acting on a tip off, arrested another robbery suspect, who escaped from Port Harcourt Prison facility in Rivers State and was hiding at Jikwoyi village in Abuja.
He said that detectives from Jikwoyi Division swung into action and arrested the suspect.
“The suspect confessed that he and five others were on their way to Abuja with a stolen Toyota Thundra, but got involved in an accident at Abaji on Friday,’’ the PPRO said.
He said they would be charged to court soon
