Police in Ogun State have arrested a 65-year-old landlord for alleged child abuse and physical molestation of 11 years old twin brothers, Taiwo and Kehinde Olishe.

The suspect reportedly tied down and beat the twin brothers for defecating in the compound in Ijebu-Ode.

He was said to have been arrested after the twins’ mother, Gbenisola Olishe, lodged a complaint at Ijebu Ode Area Command of Nigeria Police Force.

The mother had told the police that while she was away from home, a good Samaritan informed her over the phone that the landlord “tied her twins’ hands and legs with rope like goat and dragged them on ground.”

She said the twin brothers were beaten by the landlord, who also made a video record of the “heinous act.”

According to her, the twins sustained varying degrees of injuries as a result of the wicked act of the landlord.

The Police Spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement on Friday, said following the report, the Area commander ijebu Ode, Adeniyi Omosanyin, detailed some policemen to the scene.

He said the operatives who met the two boys being tied down, rescued and took them to the hospital for treatment.

He said the landord was immediately arrested and taken into custody.

“During the interrogation, the suspect explained to the police that he was informed that one of the twins excreted within the compound despite his warning that the compound must be be kept clean always.”

“When asked to take policemen to where it was, he said the boy had already washed it. One of the twins is currently on admission at Ijebu Ode general hospital due to injury he sustained while he was being dragged on ground by the suspect,” Oyeyemi said.

He quoted the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, to have ordered a thorough investigation and prosecution of the suspect.
