The police in Ogun State have arrested the “most wanted cultist” terrorising Abeokuta and Ifo communities.

The state’s police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this on Sunday to newsmen in Abeokuta, describing the suspect, Rotimi Adebiyi alias Paracetamol, as “notorious and murderous”.

Mr Oyeyemi said Paracetamol had been on the wanted list of the police command over his role in several cult clashes in the state which had led to the death of some members of another cult group.

He said, the suspect was arrested by a CSP Olanrewaju Kalejaye-led SWAT team in his hideout at Ifo.

Oyeyemi said, “The suspect, a leader of the Eiye cult group, used to come to Abeokuta metropolis to strike and always run back to his hideout in Ifo. Police operatives acting on credible intelligence stormed his place at about 1am of Saturday, April 30, 2022, where he was arrested.”

He added that locally made pistol, one live cartridge, charms, weed suspected to be Indian hemp and a cutlass were recovered from the suspect.
