The Edo State Police Command has arrested a 57-year-old vigilante, Edokpa Patrick, over alleged possession of a gun in Ugomonson community.
The spokesman of the command, Moses Yamu, said the suspect was arrested in possession of an unlicensed single-barrel gun with 172 live cartridges.
He said that during interrogation, the suspect claimed to be a vigilante but that he was later found to be a dealer in arms.
Yamu further said that the suspect confessed that his wife, Blessing Edokpa (at large), was the one selling the cartridges and that she usually got supplies from Onitsha in Anambra State.
