Police arrest man, recover firearms, drugs

The police in Oyo State have arrested a 25-year-old man, Toheeb Salawu, at a criminal hideout in an uncompleted building at Onipepeye area of Ibadan, Oyo State, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Williams, who paraded the suspect, said he was caught with two wraps of a substance suspected to be Indian hemp, 86 pieces of a substance suspected to be pawpaw leaf, 13 pieces of a substance suspected to be cloud, nine pieces of suspected ice, three rolls of rizla and three packs of nylon for wrapping Indian hemp.

He said other exhibits recovered are one single-barrel gun, three live cartridges, one machete, two small knives, four military berets, one red beret, black soap, one small local pot and alcoholic drinks.”
