The Police in Gombe State have arrested one Babangida Bappa of Tumu Ward in Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State for allegedly stabbing his wife to death.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mahid Mu’azu Abubaakr, disclosed this in a statement he sent to City & Crime yesterday.
He said the suspect was arrested ffollowing a formal complaint at the Pindiga Divisional Police office on March 12 by the elder brother of the deceased, Mr Joshua Joseph of Falanbula ward in Billiri LGA.
According to the statement, the complaint told the police that on the same date at about 08:30pm, one Babangida Bappa of Madaki quarters in Tumu village Akko LGA, stabbed his sister, Mrs Silvia Babangida with a knife.

He said the suspect, Bappa, was the husband of his deceased sister, with whom she had four children.
ASP Abubakar added that on receiving the complaint, detectives attached to the Pindiga Division rushed to the scene and evacuated the victim to hospital where she was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
He added that the ssuspect was arrested and is currently under the police custody for investigation.
The PPRO added that a knife was recovered from the suspect as an exhibit, adding that he will be charged to court soon.
