The police in the FCT have arrested three people in Kuje Area Council, a 70-year-old man, Sani Mani; Haruna Yahaya and Isah Haruna, for being in possession of firearms.
The FCT Commissioner of Police (CP), Sunday Babaji, while parading the suspects at the command’s headquarters yesterday, said the suspects were arrested for complicity and violent crimes, including kidnapping and robbery in Kuje and Tungan-Maje axes of the FCT.
He said one of the suspects, Yahaya Haruna, was arrested in Tungan-Maje market while being in possession of a locally fabricated firearm.
“Investigation revealed that Yahaya is a member of a notorious criminal gang that has been terrorising residents of Tungan-Maje community,” he said.
According to him, the arrest of Yahaya led to the arrest of the two other suspects, saying they would be charged to court upon conclusion of investigation.
