One of the suspects, Emmanuel Ojibe, according to the Commissioner of Police, Ari Mohammed Ali, confessed to the kidnap and led operatives to arrest a three-man ritual gang, involving one Razaq Ifamaye 38, and Gbenga Olawuyi, 50; both natives of Ekiti State, but resident at Old Market Road, Obiaruku. The third member of the gang, Samson Oduni, 31, is a native of Obiaruku.
CP Ali disclosed that upon interrogation, Ifamaye confessed to the crimes and led police operatives to Shegelo Beach, Obiaruku on March 9, where a bag containing human skull and other parts suspected to be that of the victim were recovered.
“One Chikogwu Isaac, 38, aka Ikukwu, a native of Obiaruku in whose premises the human parts were found, had instigated four accomplices, who are now at large, to attack the police operatives to prevent/obstruct them from making the recovery.
“He was, however, arrested and the human parts were taken to Agbor General Hospital for autopsy, while investigation is ongoing,” the police commissioner added.
