Men of the Kano State Police Command have arrested a notorious 27-year-old gang leader, Ibrahim Rabiu, popularly known as Janare, of Kwanar Ungogo Quarters, and some of his members.
The spokesman of the command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said, “Janare has been identified as a terror leading a gang of over 200 youths. On the 9th of November, 2023, coordinated criminal activities that included blocking the road from Kano to Katsina and some areas around Kurna Quarters, they extorted money from several individuals, motorists and also robbed and vandalised property.”

He explained that Janare’s arrest was by a team from the Anti-Daba Operatives led by SP Hussaini Gimba during an intelligence-led operation.
He said the suspect was arrested alongside seven of his gang members, and that exhibits recovered from them included two unregistered motorcycles, three swords, four cutlasses, five parcels of dried leaves suspected to be hemp and 135 pieces of Exol tablets.
