The Kano State Police Command has arrested a suspected drug dealer, Chibezie Onocha, 27, said to be known for supplying fake drugs from Lagos to Kano State and Niger Republic.
He was arrested by a team of Operation Puff Adder led by CSP Bashir Musa Gwadabe, while on intelligence-led surveillance patrol along IBB Road in Kano.
The spokesman of the command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said following a search at the suspect’s shop, fake drugs valued at N2,560,000 were found.
“The following suspected fake and intoxicating drugs were recovered from him; (i) 100 packets of Rubber Solution, (ii) five cartons of Buscomac tablets, (iii) Three cartons of GVN Griseofulvin tablets (iv) two cartons of Healmoxy capsules, all valued N2,560,000.”
He said on investigation, the suspect confessed that the drugs were fake and that he transported them from Lagos to Kano, with the intent to take and sell them in Niger Republic.
The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, had directed for discreet investigation, after which the suspect would be charged to court..
