The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested eight suspected burglars at different locations in the state.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr Tunde Mobayo, in a statement by the command Public Relations Officer, ASP Sunday Abutu, said the different syndicates of burglars were arrested at their hideouts.

Abutu said: “A case of burglary and stealing was reported on 6/03/2022 by a complainant that his house was burgled by unknown hoodlums who carted away some of his properties. Police arrested three suspects – Akanle Olaniyi, Akinwumi Ojo and Adewumi Adeola.

“A case of stealing was reported on March 12, when a shop was burgled on Idemo Street in Ado-Ekiti and a suspect, Adebayo Jamiu, was arrested at the scene with one standing fan and 14 generator coils recovered at the scene.”

Abutu added that 35-year-old Abdullahi Musa and Yaya Tasu, 30, were traced and arrested at Atikankan area while trying to sell two iron doors allegedly stolen from around the GRA.

One of those arrested, Femi Dipo, who confessed to the crime that he burgled a boutique, narrated how he had been arrested and charged to court on several occasions for the same offence.
