Police arrest 6 for vandalizing pipelines

Detectives attached to the Lagos State Command have arrested six persons for allegedly vandalizing pipelines belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) at Fagbile Estate Isheri-Ijegu in Idimu.

Those arrested are Jimoh Shola, 23, Wasiu Adebayo, 25, Sanni Shago,  Alamu Garuba 22, Jonathan Okiki 35, and Taoreed Saula, 33.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Chike Oti, who confirmed the arrest, said after destroying the pipes, the suspects started scooping fuel.

He said the suspects are currently undergoing interrogation at the command headquarters, Ikeja and would be charged to court at conclusion of the investigation.
