The police in Delta State have arrested a 38-year-old man, Bibi Asengbe, and four others for alleged gunrunning, cultism and other criminal activities.
Speaking to journalists in Asaba, the command’s spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe, said the first suspect was a notorious cultist that had been on the command’s wanted list.
Bright said he was arrested by operatives of Orerokpe Division in the headquarters of Okpe LGA in conjunction with members of the Okwukoko Division’s anti-cult unit while on his way to supply arms to one Marvin at the Jakpa Junction in Warri at the cost of N250,000.
He added that a Berretta pistol was recovered from the suspect while a manhunt was on to arrest the said Marvin and other accomplices.

Edafe also disclosed that a 29-year-old, Edafe Wallis, was arrested in Otefe community in Oghara and that one pump action gun, two double-barrel guns, one axe and three live cartridges were recovered from him.
He also said that two members of a syndicate terrorising Usiefrun community, Bright Akpomuje (24) and Michael Ogheneruese (24), were arrested and that a local cut-to-size pistol, seven rounds of cartridges were recovered from them.
He added that one Precious Moses (30) was arrested for alleged cultism while members of his confraternity were holding a meeting at their hideout in Owhelogbo community in Isoko North LGA.
