The Gombe State Police Command has paraded four suspects alleged to be connected with the recent communal clash in the state.
Parading the suspects, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Babaita Ishola, stated that a joint team of the Nigerian Army and Nigeria Police Force (NPF) on special duty at Nyuwar village arrested the suspects in connection with the communal clash that took place recently between Lunguda and Waja ethnic groups in Balanga Local Government Area on the border towns of Gombe and Adamawa states.
He said the suspects: Usman Yakubu, 36; Sunusi Yaskuma, 26; both of Lafiya Lamurde LGA of Adamawa State; David Sale, 34, and Chimabe Sale Pwahari, 30, of Balanga LGA, were arrested on June 6.
According to him, all the suspects confessed to having participated in the recent clash, where several people were injured and properties worth thousands destroyed.
He said three single barrel guns, a locally made revolver pistol with 24 rounds of life ammunition, cutlass, three knives, charms, and bows as well a quiver containing 52 arrows were recovered from the suspects.
