Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested four people allegedly connected with the killing of an unidentified person over alleged theft of a motorcycle in the state.
The incident, it was learnt, happened on Sunday at Iyanamo community, Off Ekehuan Army Barracks, in Benin City.
The state command’s spokesman, SP Chidi Nwanbuzor, who confirmed the incident, said the identity of the deceased was not yet known.
He said the victim was allegedly mobbed to death over an allegation that he stole an unregistered motorcycle.

Nwanbuzor said four people linked to the killing have been arrested.
He said the Commissioner of Police, Dankwara Muhammed, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).
He said the commissioner frowned at the incessant cases of “jungle justice” in the state and advised the citizens to repose more confidence in the rule of law and in the law enforcement agencies.
