The Police have arrested four persons following extra-judicial killing of two persons in Gwaram Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
Gwaram LGA has for years become notorious for kidnapping, leading the locals to take the tough stance of lynching anybody linked with such crime.
The spokesperson of the state Police Command, SP Abdul Jinjiri, told Daily Trust yesterday that to halt the trend, police summoned a meeting of all stakeholders from the LGA and it was resolved that there would be no more extra-Judicial killing, instead the locals should partner with the relevant security agencies for fighting crime.
Jinjiri said, “The police will continue to educate them that they have the power to arrest and hand over the suspects to the police for investigation and arraignment.”
