The Ogun State Police Command has disclosed that it has arrested four members of a “notorious kidnap gang” terrorising Abeokuta and neighbouring communities.

The command’s spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, told newsmen on Wednesday that the suspects: Ismaila Ibrahim (21), Musa Muhammed (26), Irekura Abu (43) and Okanlawon Muhammed (26), were arrested following series of kidnap cases at the Soyooye and Ibara Orile areas of Abeokuta.

Oyeyemi said following a directive from the Commissioner of Police (CP), Lanre Bankole, detectives moved to the areas and one of the suspects, Irukura Abu, who was later discovered to be the supplier of arms to the hoodlums.

Oyeyemi said Abu’s arrest led to the arrest of Musa Muhammed while he was coming out from their hideout to buy food for their victims.
