The police in Niger State have arrested four suspects, Aliyu Mohammed (48), Muazu Mohammed (52), Shehu Abubakar (35) and Isyaku Ahmadu (45), at Shango area of Minna who specialise in defrauding people.
The police spokesperson in the state, Wasiu Abiodun, in a statement, said that investigation revealed that the suspects made a phone call and lured a victim who resided at Sauka-Kahuta, Minna, informing him that the caller was a spirit and ordered the victim to open a bank account, get a new SIM card and drop the account details with the SIM card at a location in Minna for him to get financial assistance from the spirit.

He said the suspects subsequently used the account details to defraud another victim from the building materials market of the sum of N1.3m.
Similarly, the police in the state have arrested one 39-year-old Emeka Umerah over robbery in Garam village, Dogon-Kurmi Ward of Tafa LGA.
DSP Abiodun said the suspect who hailed from Onitsha, Anambra State, was arrested at Sabon-Wuse on the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway while driving a robbed Toyota Camry with Reg No: RBC723 BH.
Abiodun said the suspect confessed that he conspired with two others, Uzor and Ego, both presently at large, to rob the car, adding that the suspect was taking the car to Kaduna State to sell to one Zakari Kaura.
