The Edo State Police Command has arrested four suspects as a fight between rival cult groups allegedly claimed the lives of over five persons in the state.
Daily Trust learnt that the alleged cult war started on Wednesday in Upper Sakpoba and Siloko areas of Benin City, leading to the death of several persons in the state.

It was learnt that the cult clash was a battle of supremacy among the two rival cult groups over who controls the areas.
Speaking on the development, the state police command’s spokesperson, Chidi Nwanbor, who was silent on the causalities recorded, said four persons have been arrested in connection with the cult fight.
He said two of the suspects, Esosa Eregborowo 35, and Frank Obazee 34, were arrested at Iguosodin community, located in Upper Siluko road Benin while Minister Godwin 18 and Jeremiah Timothy 22 were arrested at Eweka road still on Siluko Road, Benin City.
The PPRO said the arrested suspects have confessed to being members of Aiye confraternity and are co-operating with the police with useful information.
He said the Commissioner of Police, Abutu Yaro, has ordered a massive deployment of operatives to ensure that peace is restored and the perpetrators are brought to justice.
While commiserating with the bereaved family, he said the suspect will soon be arraigned in court.
