The police in Benúe State have arrested three people suspected to be internet fraudsters in Kigh village along the dilapidated Makurdi-Naka Road in Gwer West Local Government Area.
Spokeswoman for the command, SP Catherine Anene, in a statement on Wednesday, said the trio were apprehended on Monday during a police raid.
Anene stated, “On 17/06/2024, information was received about a criminal hideout at Kigh village along Naka Road and a team of police officers was detailed to raid the place.
“During the operation, Philip Matthew, 25 years, Haribu Jafai, 27 years and John Ode Arubi, 24 years, were arrested.

“Items recovered include two iPhones, five laptops, different ATM cards suspected to be used for fraud and five 9mm live ammunition.”
She added that the suspects confessed to be internet fraudsters as seen on their phones and laptops.
